As a side note, I think horror is one of the absolute hardest kinds of games to do correctly. I still think it's scary overall and a good game, but I'll be honest I never understood why everyone considers it to be such a masterpiece. Those cheap feeling deaths got incredibly repetitive, and deaths went from 'OHMYFUCKINGSHITHELPMELAWD' to 'Okay, I'm dead again, lets reload I guess'. Those two points meant that for me, it's scariness took a huge dive as the game progressed. If it feels like a foregone conclusion, I sort of stop caring, and that in turn stops it from being scary. For me, in a horror game, I actually feel like I have to have a reasonable chance of getting away from the monster. Relating to that second part, I felt that there was a lot of 'lol you're dead' cheap shots, where it didn't feel like I had a chance, like the game just arbitrarily decided that the Alien kills me. You spend so much time just staring at the Alien as it lumbers around some random path, that I got too accustomed the monster.

Really started to drag, and it got a lot less scary because I just got used to the Alien. This is obviously subjective, but for me the issues were: Think we missed one?
